As an artist who grew up in Boulder, Colorado, I have always been surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. From a young age, I was inspired by the vibrant colors and textures of the natural world, and this has influenced my work as an abstract artist.
In my art, I have drawn inspiration from the bold and innovative work of women abstract expressionists, who have shown me the power of using color and form to evoke emotions and create meaningful pieces. By blending this inspiration with my deep love of nature, I have created a body of work that is both visually stunning and deeply personal.
Recently, I have been exploring the unique relationship between abstraction and the natural world, drawing inspiration from the Long Island Sound to create pieces that are able to interact with the elements. Through my use of different materials, including found objects and natural materials, I seek to create work that not only looks beautiful, but also has a deeper connection to the environment around me.
My hope is that my art will not only inspire others to see the beauty in the natural world, but also to take action to protect and preserve it. Through my work, I seek to connect people to the environment in new and meaningful ways, and to highlight the importance of protecting our planet for future generations.
Overall, my work is a reflection of my personal journey as an artist and a lover of nature, and a tribute to the legacy of women abstract expressionists who have inspired me to push the boundaries of art and explore new forms of expression.
Fish Island was the perfect opportunity to explore new sights and connect with yet another part of the Long Island Sound.
